Our second concert of the season, Francesca and Friends, uplifts the women composers throughout history whose music continues to break new ground. This includes Madeline Clara Cheng, our 2024-2025 Young Composer-in-Residence, whose piece will be premiered at this concert. Also featuring works by Hildegard von Bingen, Lili Boulanger, Missy Mazzoli, Jocelyn Hagen, Margaret Bonds, and - for the first time in La Caccina’s history - Francesca Caccini, this program celebrates the visionary creativity of history’s often-overlooked icons. We are excited to be joined by OLEA Ensemble - an instrumental trio of clarinet, violin, and piano - for this concert.
