ALTO

Stephanie Schoenhofer is excited to sing with La Caccina. Stephanie has impressed audiences with her "smoky mezzo"(artseen), engaging stage presence, and inherent musicality. She has enjoyed a varied career, spanning a wide spectrum of music, from the works of Hildegard von Bingen to providing vocals for the video game "GunGirl 2". A champion of music by women composers, Stephanie was featured on an all women’s program, both composers and singers, titled “Music in Secret: Sounds of the Early Convent” with Schola Antiqua, which was performed on tour at Cornell University, the Memorial Art Gallery in Rochester, New York, and at the Cathedral Basilica in St. Louis. Other engagements include the Grant Park Music Festival, William Ferris Chorale, the Chicago Symphony Chorus, and the Lyric Opera of Chicago. Stephanie is also a frequent soloist, having performed works such as the Mozart Requiem, the Duruflé Requiem, Rachmaninoff's All Night Vigil, and Handel’s The Messiah. Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Music from the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati and a Master of Music from the University of Michigan. When not performing, Stephanie is an employee of WBEZ, Chicago's NPR member station, and a proud member of SAG-AFTRA. Stephanie lives in the Chicagoland area with her husband and two goofy cats. She enjoys quiet mornings, a good Fantasy Romance novel, perfecting her pie crust recipe, and knitting.
